The “Special” Nuptials

February 19th, 2009

A recent wedding taking place in the beautiful city of Vancouver when I arrived a few minutes early picking up what I thought was the bride from the hair salon in downtown Vancouver.

When I arrived in the new white limousine I was greeted by some beautiful girls but dressed in tuxedoes which I thought odd but still looked great on them.  Next out came the bride; ready to head off to get married!  She is so excited but said  “We still have one more person we are waiting for”, I said no problem.  We are all standing on the sidewalk on Robson Street with the girls dressed in their unusual outfits but we have our one token gentleman dressed in a matching tux who seems to fit it very well with all the ladies.

All of a sudden out comes another bride from the hair salon - I am so confused! Then they exchange a “passionate” kiss in broad daylight, middle of Robson Street, Downtown Vancouver and it all makes sense.  A limousine colleague passes by about every five minutes and all I can think of is please not now!!  We went off to our “special wedding” and everyone had a great time but certainly turned heads at the wedding photography session from tourists at the park and grandma looked a wee bit unhappy and confused!  Vancouver Weddings - expect the unexpected!

The Long Ride

January 16th, 2009

Picking up passengers at some points can be challenging when on a tight schedule.  Picked up a very nice suburban couple for their anniversary; they were not quite ready but asked me to drive the kids around for a couple of minutes.

We were in our newly acquired vintage limousine so I was somewhat apprehensive about doing this but thought I really don’t have much choice.  Came back to the house; threw the kids out; parents got in and before the end of their street they were having more fun than I expected that they might.     This car was rockin’ so we were off to Vancouver for this classy couple!.

Crazy Vancouver Wedding

January 15th, 2009

It’s my first entry, so Yay! for me.

On this first entry I wanted to talk about this wedding I had to drive for last weekend.  We’ll call them Mr. & Mrs. Smith…yes like the movie, but it wasn’t them.

The day started very normal, picked up the bride and her parents in a Rolls Royce limousine; this car is sweet!. The ride to the church was fine and the ceremony apparently went according the plan.

The crazy part started after the ceremony and the pictures; an ex of the groom’s showed up outside the church yelling obscenities to the bride and she went nuts when the Mr. Smith told her to shut up.

I’ll keep this short, but let’s just say the cops showed up and the nutty ex was taken away; Mrs. Smith was left with messy hair and broken heel.

After that we headed off to the reception in downtown Vancouver; the party bus was rocking and my car was stressful with her parents still in disbelief and shock.
